Terms of Service

Last updated: September 2026 · Effective immediately upon account creation

By creating an account or using EdgeShield, you agree to these Terms of Service in full. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of EdgeShield ("Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

EdgeShield provides an edge security and delivery platform including, but not limited to:

  • A Layer-7 web application firewall and DDoS / bot mitigation reverse proxy
  • Authoritative DNS hosting with per-user nameservers and GeoDNS routing
  • Edge response caching and content delivery
  • Traffic, security and analytics reporting
  • Plan-based billing

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@edgeshield.one of any unauthorized use.

4. Billing & Payments

Paid plans are billed as described at checkout. We accept payment in cryptocurrency, processed through our payment provider. All payments are final and non-refundable unless required by applicable law. If a plan expires or a payment lapses, paid features (such as edge caching, Auto mode and custom rules) are disabled and affected domains may be limited or suspended until the plan is renewed.

5. Your Domains & Your Responsibility as Site Operator

You may only route through EdgeShield domains and websites that you own or are authorized to manage. You are the operator — and, in data-protection terms, the controller — of the websites you protect with EdgeShield. You are responsible for the content served from your origin, for your own compliance obligations toward your visitors (including your own privacy notice), and for lawfully delegating your DNS to us. EdgeShield acts as a processor for the visitor traffic passing through the Service on your behalf (see our Privacy Policy).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use EdgeShield to:

  • Host, proxy, distribute or facilitate illegal content or activities
  • Send spam or conduct phishing campaigns
  • Launch or facilitate denial-of-service (DoS/DDoS) attacks or other attacks against any system
  • Conceal the origin of, or provide a front for, malicious infrastructure (e.g. malware C2, fraud, or booter/stresser services)
  • Violate the intellectual-property or other rights of others
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other systems or networks
  • Resell or sublicense the Service without prior written consent

Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund, and we may cooperate with lawful requests from competent authorities.

7. Fair Use & Platform Stability

You are responsible for the traffic and configuration under your account. We reserve the right to rate-limit, throttle, suspend or terminate accounts or domains that negatively impact platform stability or other users, at our sole discretion.

8. Abuse & DMCA

EdgeShield is a network intermediary — a proxy and DNS provider — not the host of the content on your website. Because you (the site operator) control and host that content, you are responsible for handling abuse and copyright (DMCA) complaints relating to it. When we receive a valid report, our action as a conduit is to forward it to you, the domain owner, who is able to act on it. We do not disclose your origin server, host or IP address to a private complainant; we disclose such details only when compelled by valid legal process. See our Abuse & DMCA page for the full procedure and contact address.

9. Data & Privacy

We collect and process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Service you acknowledge that processing. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use visitor data passing through the Service for advertising or cross-site profiling.

10. Uptime & Service Availability

We operate a distributed edge network and strive for high availability, but do not guarantee any specific uptime SLA on standard plans. Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance may occur. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate planned downtime in advance.

11. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting admin@edgeshield.one or by removing your domains and delegation. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account without notice for violations of these Terms. Upon termination, your data may be deleted within 30 days. Any remaining balance is non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EdgeShield shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of data, revenue or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 30 days preceding the claim.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. No security service can guarantee protection against every possible attack.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by email or via our channels. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. Mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence remain unaffected.
